Friday | January 3rd

Baby Storytime

Bring your littles ones to enjoy an interactive story time that includes early literacy fun with books, songs, finger plays, and body movements followed by playtime with toys. For ages 0-3.

Family Storytime

Join us for Family Storytime, where early literacy starts with interactive tales and playful songs! Engage your little ones in a nurturing environment that fosters a love for reading from the very beginning!

Bilingual Storytime

Join us for a special time of storytelling in Spanish! A bilingual program designed for preschool aged kids (and their adults!) featuring our favorite books, songs and dances.

Adult Clay Night

Unleash your inner child at Creativity Warehouse's Adult Night! Create ceramic creatures/sculptures, play on the pottery wheel, and have some fun!

ABQ Artwalk

For the new year we will be featuring a series of new exhibits, performances and markets. Plus our partnership with ABQ Public Art continues with a new set of street-side art installations being added for City Brights 2!


Saturday | January 4th

Read to the Dogs

Children can come to the library and practice their reading in a relaxed atmosphere with a patient listener. Trained therapy dogs will sit calmly and quietly for a story. This is a great way for children to gain confidence in their reading.

2025 Al'burrr'querque Polar Plunge

This is a fundraising event for the Shanta Strong Swim Fund, a swim lesson scholarship fund for children in need. Most of the proceeds will go directly into this fund while about 10% will be used to provide special enrichment items for the BioPark Zoo polar bear and penguins.Location: Sierra Vista Swimming Pool

  • Doors open at 10:30am, Plunge starts at 11am

  • Refreshments, including hot coca and snacks, will be provided. There will be awards for best costume, largest group, largest family, and the largest donation!

Mason James Comedy Show

Mason James brings a quick, self-deprecating humor that might just keep you laughing all night—fingers crossed! In just two years of doing comedy, he recently won the 2023 Funniest Person in Houston Competition. Since then, he’s been lucky enough to gain 40,000 followers on social media and rack up 20 million views on his videos. He’s also grateful to be a paid regular at the Comedy Mothership in Austin, Texas. It’s been quite the ride, and he’s excited to see where it leads next!

  • Time: 7pm & 9:30pm showtimes

  • 21+ Event

  • The most convenient parking structure is located on the north entrance of Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel.

Bosque Wild Guided Hike

This is a moderately strenuous, 2-to-3-hour hike so please bring water, wear comfortable "closed toed” shoes, and dress for the weather. As much as we love our furry family, guests should leave their pets at home because pets can be a distraction, and can scare away the critters.

  • Time: 8-11am

Pajama Brunch and Movie: The Little Mermaid
